7 Things to Do This Week

You made it through Easter (🎉). The bulletins are recycled, the lilies are wilting, and you’ve maybe (maybe?) had 36 hours to breathe.

Now what?

This is the perfect moment to clear a little space. Not for a major overhaul (please, no), but for a few simple tasks that will make May-You breathe a big ol’ sigh of relief. Think of this as your communications spring cleaning, post-Holy Week edition.

  1. Archive Old Events

Take five minutes to remove, archive, or hide any events from Lent or Easter that are floating around on your website, social media banners, or newsletter templates. Future-you will thank you.

  2. Do a Homepage Gut Check

Is your church website’s homepage still screaming “Join us for Easter Sunday”? Go ahead and swap in something simpler—like a warm welcome, a plug for what’s happening this weekend, or even a short “We’re so glad you’re here.”

💡Psst: Missed our “Effective Website Design” workshop? Members can watch the replay anytime.

  3. Reset Your Email Signature

Your email signature might still be linking to the Holy Week schedule livestream. It happens. Update your worship times, contact links, and recurring events while you’re at it.

  4. Clean Up the Shared Drive (Just One Folder!)

Pick one: “Easter Graphics,” “Worship Slides,” or “Bulletins.” Move things into folders. Delete the 14 copies of “final_final_finalEaster2025_updated_forrealthisone.pdf.” You don’t need to organize your whole digital life—just start small.

  5. Check Your Forms & Links

Do a quick click-through of your “New Here?” or “Plan Your Visit” forms, especially if you used any special Easter landing pages. Double-check that links still work and confirmations don’t mention Lent.

  6. Review Your Metrics (But Only the Helpful Ones)

Now is a great time to jot down a few insights while they’re still fresh: Did your newsletter open rate go up? Did more people show up in person or online than expected? Which social posts got the most engagement? You don’t need a full report. Just gather a few breadcrumbs for future planning.

  7. Write One Thank You

To your clergy. Your custodian. The youth who showed up to run sound. The admin assistant who caught that typo in the Easter Vigil bulletin. A five-minute thank-you note can go a long way—and it feels good, too.

☕ Final Thought

You don’t need to do all of this today. Or even this week. But if you’re looking for one small, concrete thing to make your work life easier, this list is a great place to start. Pick one or two and get that little dopamine boost from clicking “archive.” This isn’t about being productive—it’s about clearing a little space so the good stuff has room to grow.
