Most church leaders have already used AI, and many feel uneasy about it. This workshop offers a framework for deciding where these tools belong in ministry and where they don't, addressing the environmental and ethical questions honestly along the way. We'll work through real congregational scenarios and leave with concrete next steps. This expert-led workshop is led by the Rev. Peter Levenstrong, an Episcopal priest, a writer, and a stubborn believer that things get better when more people help make them. He serves as Associate Rector at St. Gregory of Nyssa Episcopal Church in San Francisco.

AI is everywhere right now, and most of us are somewhere between curious and overwhelmed. This three-week cohort is for churches who want to move past the hype (and the dread) and figure out what AI actually looks like in day-to-day ministry.

We'll start with the fundamentals: what AI is, what it isn't, and why it's worth your attention even if you're skeptical. From there, we'll get practical — how to actually talk to these tools so what comes back is useful instead of generic. We'll close with workflows: real systems you can put in place the week after the series ends, not just ideas to file away.

Designed for church communicators, administrators, and clergy who want a grounded, no-pressure introduction to AI, each week builds on the last, so we'd encourage you to plan on attending all three sessions. And while we'll touch on the ethics and morality of AI along the way, it's a part of the conversation, not the main focus of the series. All sessions will be recorded for anyone who needs to catch up.
